Parallel Identities explores the intimate relationship between identity, silence, and vulnerability through the symbolic setting of a bathtub. More than a physical space, the bathtub becomes a mental refuge where the body and mind can finally surrender to the weight of everyday life. Immersed in water, two people share a moment beyond words, allowing silence to become a form of connection rather than isolation.

The project examines the tension between our public identity and the self we are unable to reveal. Water acts as a temporary shelter, washing over the body and creating a space where hidden emotions and truths can emerge. Yet, when the water drains and the moment ends, reality returns.

At the centre of the visual narrative, the model carries a plaster cast representing her “true face”—an identity she cannot openly show in everyday life. She takes this hidden self with her as she leaves the bath, suggesting that authenticity may be concealed but never truly disappears.

“Water represents comfort, transformation, and temporary freedom. It creates a space where people can let go of their daily roles and simply exist”, Adelaide says. “Shared silence can communicate what words cannot. Two people do not need to speak to understand each other; simply sharing the same space can create intimacy”.

The collection reinforces these ideas through a full bodysuit, an embellished dress decorated with Swarovski crystals, pearls and three-dimensional water droplets, and a technical waterproof jacket.
