With “Frostbound,” Izidorius Liaučius explores the solitude of modern individuals in an increasingly digitized world. The collection bridges physical fashion, digital simulation, and the quest for self-discovery.

The project originates from the vision of a vast, white icy landscape. The frozen glacier serves as a metaphor for isolation, withdrawal, and inner detachment. Rather than portraying solitude solely as a negative state, Liaučius views it as a potential space for self-reflection and personal transformation.

Each look represents a distinct phase of this emotional journey. The collection progresses from alienation and introspection through moments of crisis to a state of acceptance. Central to the work is the question of whether being alone can also be a conscious choice—an opportunity to engage more deeply with one’s own thoughts.

The interplay between physical and digital fashion plays a pivotal role. The garments exist both as real-world mock-ups and as simulated versions. This creates a tension between body and technology that mirrors the daily lives of many: the desire for independence set against the profound influence of digital systems.

The choice of materials also reflects this concept. Mock-up cotton is deliberately used as the final material, revealing construction and development processes that typically remain hidden. Cotton cords and metal eyelets complement the designs, adding structure and lending the pieces a minimalist, technical aesthetic.

Traditional pattern making and sewing techniques form the foundation of the collection. Simultaneously, the project is developed further in CLO3D, where digital materials, surfaces, and frost-like textures are explored. Physical and virtual 3D-printed accessories further expand this approach.

AI-generated images and videos are also investigated as tools for the project’s visual evolution. The result is a collection that consciously navigates the space between analog craftsmanship, digital design, and emotional introspection.
