Between Modular Fashion and Creative Visions: Alina Negwer Joins the FashionTEX Makerspace 2026 in Riga
Fashion design student Alina Negwer, from the Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, will participate in the international FashionTEX Makerspace 2026 in Riga.
The two-week program will take place from August 31 to September 12, 2026, at the Art Academy of Latvia, bringing together creative talents from 11 European fashion universities. The program focuses on digital fashion, innovative technologies, sustainability, and international collaboration.
Currently, Alina is working on her Bachelor’s project, which is conceived as a modular collection featuring “add-on” elements. The various looks and styles are designed to be flexibly adapted to different occasions—ranging from everyday outfits to retro-inspired scenarios and individual styling concepts.
Alina is particularly excited about the opportunity to gain international experience at the FashionTEX Makerspace, discover new creative perspectives, and exchange ideas with young designers from across Europe.
“Being part of FashionTEX 2026 is like the cherry on top,” says Alina, full of anticipation for the project in Riga.
The international Makerspace program combines fashion, technology, and creative innovation, creating space for new ideas at the intersection of design and the digital future.
