The FashionTEX Makerspace 2025 in Schneeberg combines creative vision and technical innovation: During a two-week residency from September 1 to 14, interdisciplinary workshops will generate new ideas for digital and physical fashion design. This dossier provides an overview of the content and introduces the experts who will guide participants on their creative journey.

Direction: Anna Liedtke & Isabel Palumbo
Content: In-depth work with CLO3D focusing on animation, avatar staging, and renderings. Goal: implementing digital fashion projects as animated scenes or virtual runway shows.

Experts:

  • Anna Liedtke – 3D Fashion Generalist, known for YouTube tutorials on Unreal Engine, CLO3D & more; established the Digital Development Program at Hugo Boss; former Content Director at The Fabricant.
  • Isabel Palumbo – 3D artist & AR designer, founder of Locus Solus Studio, working with Meta, Burberry, and ZARA.

Uwe Bodenschatz:

Uwe Bodenschatz combines an inherited passion for craftsmanship with a keen curiosity for modern technologies. At the heart of his work as a designer lies the commitment to share ecological and social values with engaged audiences, a drive that finds expression in educational settings such as universities and makerspaces. His portfolio spans from designing educational play tools and developing concepts in interior architecture to conducting scientific research on new processes for the utilisation of residual materials. He has particular expertise in 3D printing, especially with paste-based materials, which he investigates within applied research to explore their potential for sustainable and experimental applications.

Content: Development of new textile forms of expression by combining digital knitting patterns (Kniterate machine) with modern computer-aided embroidery.

Experts:

  • Franziska Heinze – Textile designer, head of the knitting workshop at WHZ Zwickau, founder of the label Tikkiroll, specialized in wearable art.

  • Susanne Schmidt – Acting Professor of Fashion Design, head of the Technical Center for Clothing and Technical Textiles, conducting research on joining techniques & 3D printing in textiles.

Direction: Anita Michaluszko
Content: Creation of realistic & creative fabric textures in Adobe Substance for CLO3D – from material properties to integration into 3D fashion projects.

Expert:

  • Anita Michaluszko – Textile & fashion designer, Swiss Design Award winner, co-creator of Augmented Weaving, with exhibitions at Dutch Design Week & Museum für Gestaltung Zürich.

Direction: Antonio Lo Presti
Content: From storyboard to final video – creative direction and realization of digital fashion shows with CLO3D animations.

Direction: Dorette Bardos & Anke Ott
Content: Planning and realization of a physical fashion show: concept, fittings, and production of a professional fashion event.
