FashionTEX in Prague | A Creative Hub for European Fashion Education
From March 11 to 14, 2025, representatives from all eleven partner universities of the EU-funded FashionTEX project gathered for their third in-person meeting—this time at the inspiring Fashion Design Studio of UMPRUM Academy in Prague. The focus: exchange, innovation, and advancing a shared vision for the future of fashion education.
Key topics included digital visibility, preparations for the annual FashionTEX Festival, and, most importantly, the expansion of Makerspaces—open workshops that bridge theory and practice in digital fashion design. A major highlight was the upcoming Makerspace in Schneeberg, set to open in September 2025.
External experts such as digital artist Isabell Udo and textile researcher Anita Michaeluszko provided fresh perspectives on the intersection of technology, fashion, and aesthetics. A standout moment was Professor Antonio Lopresti’s presentation, showcasing an interactive avatar created using AI and programs like Clo3D and Blender—an artistic statement on the power of digital creativity.
The event powerfully demonstrated how collaborative networks, digital tools, and cultural diversity can reshape fashion education across Europe. As project leader Bernhard Reeder emphasized: “These in-person meetings are not just about concepts—they’re about trust, exchange, and shared visions.”
